Discipline is the suppression of base desires and is usually understood to be synonymous with restraint and control.
Self-discipline is, to some extent, a substitute for motivation.
Virtuous behaviour can be described as when one’s values are aligned with one’s aims: to do what one knows is best to do and to do it gladly.
Discipline is the most important thing we can develop in our lives because, without that ability of self-reliance and willfulness to get things done on a continual basis, we never get a great deal of momentum and progress.
Think about an action, goal, or dream.
Emotionally engage with that action, goal, or dream each morning of life, i.e., motivation. Visualise dream.
Do your work before responding to the world. Do your work first thing in the morning.
Schedule blocks of time for doing the same thing every day.
Set that block only for that action. Don’t let time give way to randomness.
Get some social rewards. Small win, and celebrate that small win.
Dreams without a goal remain just dreams, which ultimately fuel disappointment. The goal of achievement cannot be achieved without discipline and consistency. True desire in the heart for anything good is God's proof to you to see beforehand to see it's yours already. When in darkness, we should not wait for light; we should step forward and face fear.
We can have only two things in life: reasons or results. Results don’t lie when you keep your commitments. When we tell people to do something, they will say, I will try. I will try means it's your escape call. Because it requires commitment. Commitment means no excuse is acceptable. i.e., if you decide you want to do it. If it's hard, then do it hard. Whatever you are doing and how you spend your time tells what you will become. The only way to move forward is to decide you want that dream so bad that you are going to work harder, get up earlier, stay later, and push past people who doubt and hate you. I want you to be fearless. I want you to be decisive. I want you to make a decision right now that when you fail and fall to your knees, I want you to remember your power and get back up on your feet. Make a decision today. When you are in darkness, you will remember your power. You are your own light, and you will change the world.
How to build discipline:
- Set short-term goals.
- Reward yourself when I follow discipline.
- Don’t listen to your heart or mind once you have decided to practise some discipline. At that time, I have to tell my heart and mind that you are a slave and I am a master.
- Just do it. After about six weeks, it becomes a habit.
- Pillow Alarm: Let your pillow wake you up at 6:00 a.m. in the morning, and have confidence that it will wake you up at 6:00 a.m. in the morning.
Cure yourself of a lack of discipleship:
- Care more than normal or more than necessary about your result. Learn to care. Have more feelings about work.
- Experience small consecutive wins: winner momentum.
- Care on a daily basis.
Life is a flow.
If getting ahead is very difficult, then here is what you have to do:
- Look at life and say, "Do I accept this or not accept this?" Make a decision: "What direction is my life going?
- Burn the boats. It's extremely clear.
- If you say I don’t have time, then you say I don’t have time for that.
- Surround yourself. Get mentors. Peers at your level to keep in check
- If we are complaining, then it's like, "What are you doing? Life is very short.
- Never be negative or complain; surround yourself with great influences. Don’t waste your time on petty emotions because none are self-defeating.
- Try new things because you will know what you might be good at.
- If life is good, then everything works better. People treat you better, and the body works better. Being happier, smarter, and more creative is a long-term payoff.
- The price you have paid, then, is what you have become.
- Life is a flow that is moving forward.
- Life is about getting what you want.
- Raise your standard.
